Making Learning Fun and Teaching a Joy

Mission impossible? No! Introducing the first book to combine standards-based teaching curriculum with a new way to stimulate students’ passion for learning.

SUMMIT, NJ - Undisputed studies show that learning by doing is a direct pipeline to a child’s educational success.

Now, in the the first book to combine the standards-based teaching paradigm with highly effective motivational approach, a team of experienced educators and artists put a fresh spin on the basics while instilling creativity.

In their first book of a series, Lesson Plans that Wow!, authors Ed McCormick, Stephanie Dyke, Rebecca Orn Osborn, and Jon Weiman have taken action against the disturbing trend of slashing core curricula and the arts, a trend that has eroded our country’s educational edge.

By compiling12 fun-filled and classroom tested lesson plans that tap into the “learning by doing” dynamic, Lesson Plans that Wow! stimulates a student’s passion for learning with creative projects that meld history, social studies, science, and math. Each lesson plan is designed around national standards for the specific academic disciple. As a result, educators have a go-to manual to supplement classroom studies with fun and classroom tested lesson plans like:

Liberty and Casting for All
Making copies of the liberty bell while learning history

Don’t Let the Trilobites
Lessons in the science of paleontology while creating fossils

Communications through Gestures
Combining sculpture with social studies

Putting the ‘You’ in Art
Students create a three dimension life portrait of themselves
Plus eight more creative, standards-based lessons!

Written for educators in any setting whether it be home or school, Lesson Plans that Wow! is the essential how-to guide for tapping into a child’s passion for earning...without them even knowing it.
